Terms.
Plain-language rules for using zeno: the site at zeno.center, the zeno CLI, and the dashboard.
The service
zeno is a research-derived instrument that measures the supervision cost of AI-assisted work. You install the CLI, it computes derived cognition numerics on your machine, and the dashboard shows you your curve. The free tier runs entirely on your machine: your numbers stay local and nothing syncs to our cloud. Cloud sync and the hosted dashboard are part of Pro and Team. zeno is a beta research pre-release operated by Zeno Center (United States); the product is in active development and features may change.
During the pre-release, access opens in waves from the waitlist. We calibrate the instrument per cohort, so we may pause signups, adjust wave timing, or recalibrate scores between waves. Joining the waitlist puts you in line; it does not guarantee access on a specific date.
Your account
You sign in through our authentication provider. Keep your account credentials to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. One person per account.
Free tier, Pro, and trials
The free tier is free. Pro is a paid subscription (EUR 19 per month or EUR 190 per year, prices at /pricing), billed through Stripe. New subscriptions start with a 14-day trial. The first 250 waitlist members instead start with a 30-day trial and a founding price that stays locked for as long as their subscription remains active without interruption; the founding price applies only while they hold a continuous Pro subscription. For everyone else, prices may change with notice before a renewal as the product grows. You can cancel any time in the Stripe customer portal; your subscription runs to the end of the paid period. Payments already made are not refunded when you cancel. If we terminate your account or shut the service down for reasons other than a breach of these terms, we refund the unused part of your paid period. EU consumers keep their statutory withdrawal rights. Invoices and receipts live in the Stripe customer portal.
Account deletion
You can request deletion at any time (see Privacy). Deletion cancels an active subscription immediately and your account stops working. Your data is hard-deleted within 30 days; billing records are anonymized rather than deleted, because payment law requires we keep them.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, probe other users' data, or resell access. Respect rate limits. We may suspend accounts that endanger the service or other users.
Research participation
Some features invite you into studies, for example the RTLX-S surveys. Participation is optional, governed by separate consent shown before you take part, and never required to use the product. Study designs are pre-registered before data collection. Your survey responses are stored with your account and deleted with it. Your product telemetry does not appear in a published study unless you opt in, and published results use de-identified data only. zeno research is UNLV-affiliated; where a study runs under an institutional protocol, its own consent governs.
Pilots and partnerships
Pilot engagements are governed by a separate written agreement. Nothing on this page constitutes a pilot offer, and nothing here creates a contractual relationship until both parties sign.
Citations and research briefs
The research briefs and papers published at /research may be cited freely with attribution. Republishing material in full requires written permission. Third-party research linked from this site remains the property of its respective authors and publishers.
Intellectual property
The zeno mark, voice, layout, and original writing are the property of Zeno Center. Your data is yours; we process it only to run the service, as described in the privacy policy.
Liability
The service and our published materials are provided in good faith but without warranty. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. zeno scores are statistical estimates derived from usage signals. They can be wrong, they vary between people, and they shift as your baseline calibrates. They are not a diagnosis and should not be the sole basis for employment, performance, or health decisions. zeno measures cognition; it does not give medical, psychological, or professional advice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

These terms may change; we date material revisions. Last revised: 2026-07-06. Questions: contactmarservices@gmail.com.
